In only his third full year in motocross world championship racing, Xavier Boog has already made a meaningful impact in the world series. The 20 year old Frenchman had his debut world championship season in 2006, and finished 28th in the world championship series. In 2007 he scrambled up the rankings, and claimed a world ranking of 13th after a strong season with several top 10 results.

In view of his remarkable progress during 2007, Xavier was a sought-after rider when contract time came around. He finally opted to sign with the German-based Inotec Ortema Suzuki team, which placed factory Suzuki bikes at his disposal. He grasped the opportunity with both hands, and to date has already had two near podium finishes in the 2008 world series. He also represents his team in the German ADAC Masters series, pitting his smaller 250cc machine against the brutal 450cc bikes of the opposition, and he regards the power deficit that he has to overcome as "good training."

Xavier was a precocious talent from when he started motocross racing at five years of age. He started racing in German championship races on a 50cc, and progressed through the classes. In 2002, he was 5th in the European 85cc championships. He continued adding to his impressive list of achievements with a fourth place finish in the 2004 French Junior Championships and 13th position in the FIM Junior World Cup.

In 2005 he formed part of the famed Equipe de France, the French Federation's development program for promising young riders. He achieved some significant milestones, finishing second in both the French Junior Championships and the Junior World Cup. Despite only participating in a few European Championship events, he also visited the podium in this ultra-competitive series.

When not racing, Xavier returns to his home in Meyenheim in the Alsace region. He lists his hobbies as BMX, karting and a (friendly) game of poker with his friends, which he claims to win more often than lose. His status as a single successful motocrosser in all probability puts him high in the eligibility stakes.
